What pupils with dyslexia ask of their teachers
• Please don’t shout
• Don’t overload us, either with too many oral instructions or demanding too much written work
• Don’t ever ridicule my errors – “Not you again ....”
• Don’t make me completely rewrite the work
• Don’t ignore my signs that I don’t understand or am losing concentration
• Don’t make me work for too long without a break
• Don’t make the emphasis copying from the board
• Don’t always expect an immediate answer
• Don’t make me write out the learning outcome every lesson
• Don’t ever give up on me
• Provide me with the tools and opportunities to succeed
• Don’t keep teaching me phonics if I don’t get it
