The Wendy House Pre-School Care and Education
The Wendy house aims to support and guide the children, so they may "learn through play". We offer a range of experiences in line with the governments Early Years Foundation Stage which includes the seven areas of learning. These activities include painting, collage/junk modelling, play dough and various construction toys. This is only a small selection of the activies available which includes both inside and outside play.
The number of adults present in a playgroup enables us to provide individual attention for each child. Each child is able to progress at his/her own rate in all areas of development, and this is true for children with or without disabilities or learning difficulties. All children go through a process of continuous assessment, and a child's individual needs can be assessed this way. Through this we can identify a particular need and then provide appropriate/additional support fort the child. The pre-school runs in a community centre, so we are able to cater for children with both additional physical and learning needs, but might need additional support before we could cater for a child with more complex needs.
