Afasic was founded in 1968 as a parent-led organisation to help children and young people with speech and language impairments and their families. We provide information, training and publications for parents and professionals. 

Afasic is the UK charity representing children and young people with speech, language and communication difficulties, working for their inclusion in society and supporting their parents and carers.

Our Advice and Information Services provide support to thousands of people every year, including Helpline and email support, free to download factsheets and access to our local networks.

Afasic has a range of written information and videos about Speech, Language and Communication Needs. We also offer the Afasic Helpline, which is the only helpline that knows enough about SLCN to help you understand your child’s difficulties, what help (s)he needs and how to get it.
