Willen Lake South

Popular recreational lakeside with water and land-based activities. Can be busy during school holidays and summer weekends. 

 

SEN sessions are available at Splash and Play. Access guides are available for lakeside activities and staff can advise on accessibility.

Great Linford Manor Park

Nature, water, relaxation, peace and quiet. History and heritage enthusiasts. Sensory play.

Accessible parking.

An historic park with surfaced paths meandering through woodland and designed landscape. There are ponds and the canal with no fencing. A sculptural play trail is available for all. 
Furzton Lake Surfaced paths, accessible toilet, accessible parking. The site of a recent accessibility improvement project, the lake now has more benches, picnic benches, tactile paving, handrails and wheelchair stops for viewing platforms. There is an accessible toilet available from 12pm. The lake can be busy but it’s quiet and feels like a nature escape. A quieter spur of the lake leads into the Tattenhoe Valley.
Caldecotte Lake Surfaced paths, toilet, pub, accessible parking, nature, bird feeding. The lake has surfaced paths around the outside, which make it around a 5km loop. There are benches and signposts along the way. It’s good for birdwatching and getting away from the noise of the city. A small play area is adjacent to the Greene King pub.
Shenley Wood Surfaced paths, sensory, calm, peace and quiet. Shenley has a surfaced interior path which is level and wheelchair accessible. There is accessible parking on Merlewood Drive. Great place for quiet meditation and forest bathing. 
Linford Wood Surfaced paths, sensory, calm, peace and quiet. Linford Wood has a surfaced interior path which is level and wheelchair accessible. Great place for quiet meditation and forest bathing.
